4 Month Shots and SHARE

Today the girls went for their 4 month check-up and had to get the shots! :-( But they did GREAT! They just cried for a few seconds and then they were okay...my little tough gals! However, poor Lucy had to be put through the mill...she had to have a heel stick as well. She seemed to cry alot more with that than the shots! She had to have her blood checked one more time to see if her iron level was up enough to get off the meds! I haven't heard the results yet, but I'm just praying that her numbers are up! Overall the doctor was very pleased with how they are growing...Lily weighed in at 11lbs 10oz and Lucy right at 11lbs even! Lily started out much smaller, but I think Lucy may be our little runt! They are both doing so well though...it's just that Lily finally decided to be the REAL BIG SISTER (she is older by 1 minute ya know!) He also said we are ready to start solid food, so of course I had to immediately call my sister and ask her how in the world I'm supposed to do this! She gave me all the knowledge I need to start, so we may give it a whirl this weekend...I'll be sure to post some pics! ( I stuck a baby spoon in both of their mouths tonight just to see what they would do and they seemed to have gotten the hang of it already! We'll see!)
Last night Lucy got us up about every hour because she had rolled over on her back (they both love sleeping on their bellies) and she got mad because she couldn't get back over! So we were going in there all night rolling her back over! She just did it again a minute ago and I'm scared we're gonna go through this again tonight! A few sleepless nights are worth it though! I'm so glad that my girls are healthy and happy!
They went right to sleep and had a great nap this afternoon after their appointment, so I guess the shots didn't phase them much!
Here are some pictures I took before we left for the doctor...

My Dainty Lucy

And My Sweet Lily

Also today, we got the girls' dedication dresses in! It was a group effort to get them...both my mom and dad helped us find 2 different dresses to choose from! One is 3-6 months and the other is 0-3...they are both ADORABLE and I can't wait to try them on the girls tomorrow to see which one works! The dresses are very similar, so my mom got some shoes to match either and is working on finding socks to match! Now I just have to contact my bow lady and we're all set! I REALLY would like to find some baby bracelets for them to wear as well...so if anyone knows of a place I could gets some, let me know! Their dedication is Sunday morning at Lurton (where Ryan's dad pastors) so I'm sure I'll have lots of pics for ya next week! I would show you the dresses now, but let's let it be a surprise!

Tonight, I went to the local SHARE meeting at the hospital. It was a GREAT meeting and I'm really excited about what all the group will accomplish! SHARE is a support group for parents grieving infant and pregnancy loss. It's been almost 2 years since we lost our sweet Addison, and although we have gone on to have our wonderful baby girls, the pain of losing Addison is still there. I wanted to join this support group mainly to help be a support or comfort to others. We had a great group there tonight and one of my sweet blogger friends Avie was there and we actually got to meet for the first time! Our husbands were good friends in college, but she and I have never actually had the chance to meet! Our friendship is an example of how God brings people into your life at just the right time, for just the right reason! We have very similar stories and she is so precious! One of my really good friends who has recently lost a baby, met me there as well. It was so great to spend time with her. I also met some great people tonight and I'm so happy that this support group was formed, because it is definitely a need in this community. So if you or anyone you know who lives around the Russellville area and has lost a baby at any gestational age or in infancy, please feel free to come to the meetings. They are held the 4th Tuesday of every month in the cafe at St. Mary's. We had a really great visit tonight sharing our stories and I'm already looking forward to next month!
