Today I was feeling a little ambitious, so I decided to take the girls (by myself) to Hobby Lobby! I was just needing to get a few little things to complete a project I wanted to do. Now, this project
could have waited until tomorrow night when Ryan is home to watch the girls (he is working on his sermon for Saturday night's youth event at
Lurton) but
nooooooo, I had to do this project TONIGHT!!!! That's just me and my impatience! So....I decided that the girls and I would take a little trip! They were fed, changed, and happy...so I thought, why not? They did GREAT!

Why does this cart seem so much smaller all of a sudden?
They both fit just fine, but I had to carry the diaper bag and hold the items in my hand that I was going to buy...but hey, it worked!
(I would NOT go grocery shopping with these two just yet...just so ya know!)

Lucy got to sit up top and the sun was pretty bright for her!

Lily stuck her
tongue out at me because I made her sit in the bottom!

My project were these two bracelets! I wanted the girls to have some bracelets to wear for their dedication on Sunday and decided to make some myself! They don't exactly match their dresses, but I only had a limited amount of time before the girls threw a fit, so I got some cute crystal beads and a heart-shaped charm with small little diamond like jewels. I made it using elastic instead of a clasp...I just thought that would be easier to get on and off of them. They turned out really cute and they can go with just about anything!
I finished them in less than and hour, so don't you think I could have waited on this project? Sure, but we had fun on our little outing! Of course, I got all my favorite questions/comments...
Are they twins? (my favorite)
Are they both girls? (2nd favorite b/c they were in pink car seats and dressed in pink...granted they didn't have bows on, but I get asked this question even when they are wearing dresses and big bows!)
Are they identical? (no)
Boy! You sure do have your hands full! (ya think?)
I'm glad they're yours and not mine! (ME TOO!!!)
You sure are brave going out in public! (I know..let's see you try it!)
And of course...."AWWWWWWWWWW....THEY ARE SO CUTE!"
(I KNOW! THANK YOU!) :-)
So...I'm really trying to refrain from posting some pictures of the girls in their dedication dresses! I just took some snapshots to e-mail my parents (since they sent the dresses to me and wanted to see how they were gonna work!) Even though they don't have bows and aren't the best picture quality, they still look so stinkin' cute! But I'm going to try and hold off showing the dresses until after the dedication on Sunday! But speaking of bows, the girls and I also went to my bow lady today to take the dresses to her so she can make a bow to match! I think they will turn out cute!
The girls were WORN OUT when we got back from our outings, so they conked out! They are sleeping so hard that I measured their wrists with a tape measure to make the bracelets and then tried them on when I was finished, and they didn't even wake up! Poor babies...I've put them through alot today!
It was a good day...we ate, we laughed, we played....

and this is what I have to show for it!
Can you spot my "beer" on the end table?
(Don't worry, it's just my soda...I MUST have a coke to get through the day!)
I told my husband earlier today...
ONE messy house is worth TWO wonderful babies!
So at the end of the day when I'm cleaning this up, I know it was all worth it!
(Maybe one day I will put up a picture of my living room when it's clean!)
First of all, my dear, I've got to tell you how much I love reading yours and Angie's blog. I'm addicted. So addicted that I'm giving it a try. (I'll get you a link when I get it up and going.) You guys are like a great book I can't wait to get back to. :0) Anyway, I think you are a fabulous mother, and that, by far (many, many miles) should come before being a fabulous house-keeper. At my baby shower, my sister handed out sheets of paper to all these little seasoned mommies and grandmommies and asked that they write some words of advice for the mother-to-be. In a room of about 40 women, with over half of them being over age 45, I numerous sheets with one little poem on it. Its been around forever and still holds true. Please type it, print it out, and stick it somewhere you can read it often to remind yourself of the truth of it...and then stick a box of tissues beside where you post it. :'0( Those little angels will be grown before you know it...so take this to heart.
ReplyDeleteCLEANING AND SCRUBBING CAN WAIT TIL TOMORROW,
FOR BABIES GROW UP, MUCH TO OUR SORROW.

FOR I'M ROCKING MY BABY, 'CAUSE BABIES DON'T KEEP.
AWE! Thank you so much Kassy! That is the sweetest poem and it almost made me cry! I will print that out...I need to be reminded of that daily! I'm glad you like our blogs...we've thought about creating a blog for our dysfunctional family! lol! I can't wait for your blog...I told Angie that you need one because you always have really cute stories about Andee!
ReplyDeleteLooking foward to it!
