Well, alot has been going on around here the last couple of days, so I thought I would designate today to fill ya in! On Wednesday, I decided to go ahead and take Lily in for the rash on her face. So I got them both ready because I thought I was going to have to take Lucy as well, but Ryan got home in time to keep her. So here they are in their little coordinating outfits! I love to have them matching, but if they're not going to match, I like outfits that go together like these! Lucy's outfit has a big flower on it like the little one's on Lily's...they are actually 6 months, but they fit (maybe just a little big)!

Okay...so I got them ready, took some pictures, and then went out to start the van and when I came back to get them, this is what I saw....

HOW SWEET!!!! I LOVE THIS PICTURE!

This one is similar, but they are really holding hands! Lily has been staring Lucy down lately...I don't know if she's just now figuring out who she is or what, but it is SO funny! Lucy likes to laugh and play with Lily, but Lily is just so serious and stares at her constantly!

So, since Daddy kept Lucy...me and Lily had a little time by ourselves! Here we are waiting for the doctor!
(By the way, he did confirm it to be Eczema...but he gave us some cream and it's healing up already!)

After the doctor, I needed to go to the grocery store and thought since I just had one with me, I would give it a try....

She did GREAT! She drank some of her bottle, looked around, and just played!
We also had to go to the post office and she did great in there too!

By the time we got home, she was worn out!

When we got back, Lucy was excited to see us! She and Daddy had fun too! I like for us to do things with them separately, so we can give them our undivided attention! Next time, Lucy will get to go run errands with mommy! It was a fun day!
But after such a fun day, later that night I started to feel pretty sick. I've been battling a cough, cold, and pretty bad ear infections for going on 2 weeks, but this was the worst! I woke up Thursday morning with a really high fever and my ears hurt so bad I could barely function. Well, when you have 1 baby, much less 2...you need to be able to function! Ryan saw how sick I was and called his mom to see if she could help me out for a little bit...

That was at 6:30 a.m and she was there by 8 a.m. (she lives an hour away!) She and my father-in-law came to the rescue! I'm so thankful that they live close enough and are willing to help out so much! When they got there, I went to lay down for a while and then I started to feel much better. My MIL stayed the night and my FIL came back to get her today. Not only did she watch the babies, she cleaned my whole house!!!! Also, when my FIL got here today this is what he did...

He also brought his chainsaw and cut up the part of the tree that had fallen during the storm, and will later come to cut the rest of the tree down! (remember my bullet list...that was one of the things that has been on my mind...it's like he can read minds! No one ask him to do that!)

In addition, my MIL swept the grass, pulled weeds from the flowerbeds, got up with the girls (to turn them back over) so Ryan and I could get some solid sleep and she also made some yummy creamy potato vegetable soup just like Dixie Stampede's!!! (if you have never been there..it's worth the trip just for that soup!)
Anyway, I'm just really thankful that they came to help me when I was so sick and on top of that did a bunch of work that NO ONE ask them to do...they just took it upon themselves! I'm very blessed!
(TO MY FAMILY: I KNOW YOU DO ALOT TOO!)
Mom, I know you're reading this and thinking I'm leaving you out...I'm not! You also clean and cook too! So thank you!!
Moving on...the girls have eaten applesauce for the last 2 nights and they love it! Cereal of course wasn't that big of a hit, but they tried!

Here's Lucy

And here's Lily

They are still getting adjusted of course, but overall, I think they're getting it! After a long talk with my
sister, I guess I'll go ahead and try making up some baby food tomorrow. We'll see if I go through with it or not! I'm also going to try and re-organize my cabinets to make room for all the newly acquired baby stuff!

I couldn't resist...just one more of my sweet girls!
What sweet little things. I can't believe they are growing so darn fast! Check out http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/. It has some good recipes and some really good tips. Something I learned that was awesome was to take the baby food I'd made and pour it in to an ice tray. Freeze it, then put the cubes in zip lock bags or plastic storage containers and freeze them. Each 'cube' is about 1 ounce of food. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteLeah, I love looking at pics of Lily and Lucy!
ReplyDeleteThey are too cute and growing so fast - fun, isn't it? (Even getting up all night turning them over! lol)
